A Place Where Adults AND Kids Can Be Kids

We have been having a lot of fun with Tim lately.  After Brock studies for a while, he likes to do something fun with Tim to make up for the time he spends studying.  The other day we went to the Omaha Children's Museum.  I've been with Tim, but Brock hadn't seen him there yet.  Tim still loved the ball area where you play with plastic balls and tubes that suck the balls up and do different things.  Tim just points and says "Ball! Ball!" the whole time while playing with them.  It's so cute to see how quick he picks up on how to play with different things.

There is a little Haunted House set up for one of the exhibits right now.  These were mummy caskets, but Tim really didn't have any idea what was going on in the house.

There was a robotic tiny dinosaur out.  He opens his mouth and blinks his eyes.  Tim was pretty afraid at first, so he kept his distance like in this picture.  But in the end, he got up close to it and was laughing and smiling.

Tonight we had A LOT of fun going to Chuck-E-Cheese.  We had a coupon for lots of tokens for cheap, so we go them.  But it was hard to use that many tokens doing fun stuff with Tim!  We were there for a couple hours and all really had a good time.  Brock and I worked together to beat a football game, we competed each other in ski ball, and we watched a motion picture movie.  Tim had fun with a hungry hippo type toy, a bowling game, and ski ball, too.

The bowling ball in the bowling game had a "ball return" underneath the game part.  Tim especially liked watching the ball come out, but he got really close to getting a ball in the head a few times when he put his head right by the hole.  But watching him "bowl" was so cute.

The soccer ball he got with all his tickets!

We ended our family date night with salad and pasta at Olive Garden.  It was the best Tim has ever been in a restaurant (since being a newborn).

Tim has been coming to work with me and Brock, too.  We coach 3-6 year old soccer so we have practice twice a week and games on Saturdays.  Tim LOVES playing soccer.  Even his baseballs are soccer balls to him now.  He actually dribbles as good as some of the three year olds.  And today at the games, he was kicking the ball in to the goal and clapping for himself.  He's never kicked it into the goal before, so it's really cute to see how he picks up on what he sees.  We didn't teach him that!  But he really does kick balls all around the house.  He is always looking around saying "ball?" when he can't find one to play with.  He started saying "more" this week, too.  It sounds more like "mo," but it's so cute.  I'm glad he's finally starting to say some new words.  He's growing up so fast!
