Bicycle

Our friend's are letting us borrow their son's old tricycle.  I think Tim is in Heaven. He does EVERYTHING with his "bike."  He seriously loves this thing.  And he's gotten so good and peddling backwards and forwards.  I'm so proud of all the new things he's learning!  He even had to fall asleep with his hand on the handlebars the other night.  It was the only way to get him to stop screaming "bike!"

I also got him to smile for the camera lately.  I love that he actually smiles on demand now - photographer mom's dream!  I got him to make a "funny face" with me too.  I love this kid!

Bath Time!

Tim has been really enjoying bathtime lately.  So much so that we often are approached by a naked little boy who got undressed by himself asking for the "tub."  It's so funny that he can finally get his clothes all off - even his diaper.  But he has a really hard time with his diaper.  He hasn't figured out that he can pull the tabs yet. Fine with me!

Coloring Fun

The other day, Tim colored a picture and brought it to me and held it up for me to see.  He was so proud of himself.  And it was so cute!  It was the first time he's ever done that, and it's such a "kid" thing.  Luckily for me, he did it again the next day so I could take pictures of it.  I can't believe how big he's getting.  He's always been pretty independent, but he's just growing up so much.  I'm having a really hard time letting him too, but I'm working on it.  I love my BABY boy so much, but I think my BIG KID boy is going to be pretty fantastic, too.

Gingerbread

Somehow I got put on the Gingerbread committee for our branch's submission to the Annual Gingerbread Festival at the Mormon Trail Center.  It's a really neat exhibit of hundreds of gingerbread submissions from all around Omaha.  Luckily we had some help making the actual gingerbread men, and the Relief Society sisters in our branch had an activity to decorate the men, but Janna and I had to put it all together.  Let's just say it didn't turn out as planned.  But it was a fun process (that I'm really glad is over!)  Tim really liked the royal icing.  At one point, I looked over and he had his tongue out about 2 inches a way from the newly frosted tree.  He totally was going to just lick it off the tree.  SO FUNNY!  He settled for the icing bag instead.

I also got to go play the piano for two hours the other day at the festival.  It was really fun to get all my Christmas music out for the year.  I love playing Christmas music, so I love this time of year!

Tech Geek Tim

Lately we've been finding Tim in the funniest places playing the iPad/kindle, or just watching a movie. He's such a tech geek of a kid!  He LOVES to play all of his games, but it's gotten to the point that I have to hide all the gadgets to get him to play with something else for a while.  He got his kindle as an early Christmas present (I couldn't wait to let him open it so I could get my iPad back for business!)  We originally got him the Leapppad 2, but after finding the kindle on a lightning deal and realizing how much we would save on not having to buy a charger and $3 apps, we decided to do the kindle instead.  He loves it - and I like that it's something that can grow with him a little more.  Not to mention we get great movie and book freebies for being amazon prime members.  I'm excited to read on it!  But I'll probably have to let him play with my iPad when I do.... Funny kid this one is!
